Backend Developer
Node.js · MongoDB · APIs · MCP servers
Tokyo, Japan
Summary
15+ years building for the web: high-tech startups, landing pages carried by heavy animation and visual work, and corporate portals where speed and security come first. On the back end I prefer Node.js and MongoDB — REST APIs, WebSocket, SSE streaming, JWT / OAuth, rate limiting, subscription billing — with 5+ years of Python, PHP, PostgreSQL and MySQL behind that. I have built search on Typesense, vector search and hybrid ranking. I run the infrastructure my own products sit on — deploys, migrations, monitoring — and I own the DevOps and CI/CD side of a project. I can deliver a project from scratch, and I can take over someone else's legacy code — including migrations across major framework versions. The interface is not foreign territory either: Vue / Nuxt and React / Next.js are daily tools. Recent years have been mostly AI: complex agents, MCP servers, search and recommendation systems built into products people use — and third-party integrations are routine, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Stripe, AWS and many others.
